Perched in the historic district of West Palm Beach, adjacent to a temple that inspired its nickname, the "Dome Home," this new construction project by Encompass Design transformed a visionary concept into a vibrant, modern eclectic masterpiece. Spearheaded by Niki Cavallo, the project reimagined a multi-level residence for a former professional basketball player turned tech entrepreneur, whose directive was clear: "make this home sexy." The renovation focused on the kitchen, dining room, office, master suite, and roof decks across three floors, creating a party-ready haven that blends bold textures, eclectic accents, and luxurious warmth.
This ground up construction construction project, completed in the summer of 2023, crafted a dynamic, open-concept home tailored to the client’s love for entertaining and South Florida’s vibrant lifestyle. The client invested significantly to achieve a high-end, custom design that prioritized visual impact and functionality. The result is a space dubbed the "Dome Home," where every room feels intentional, glamorous, and reflective of the owner’s larger-than-life personality.
The client sought a home that exuded "sexy" sophistication. His vision included:
Modern eclectic flair: A mix of vintage and contemporary elements, with Persian rugs, geometric patterns, and luxurious materials like shagreen leather and polished stainless steel.
Intentional open spaces: Vignettes and architectural anchors to define individual areas within wide-open rooms, enhanced by varied ceiling heights and dramatic lighting.
Party-ready functionality: Roof decks designed for entertaining, with panoramic views and spaces for lounging, dining, and working outdoors.
The kitchen overcame a challenging soffit with an extended walkway featuring overhead lighting and integrated storage, making the refrigerator and freezer columns feel like a deliberate architectural statement. The dining room dazzled with glass pendants hung at varying heights, while the office mixed Persian rugs with sleek leather chairs for eclectic charm. The master suite layered neutrals and textures for a cozy, luxurious retreat, and the roof decks maximized views with a semi-circular sofa, outdoor TV, and round worktable. A nod to Tina Turner’s bold energy tied the glamorous aesthetic together.
This project was about creating a statement home that matched the client’s bold persona. The significant investment delivered a bespoke residence where every detail—from custom stainless brackets to vintage Persian rugs—reflects uncompromising quality.
